The Trufrost PMD plug-in multideck chiller is a vertical open display built to sell on impulse. Sited in front of a till or on a promotional island, it puts packaged dairy, beverages, packaged food, fruit and vegetables at eye level with nothing between the shopper and the product.
The plug-in design is the practical advantage. The full condensing unit is housed inside the cabinet, so there is no external condenser to install and no pipework to route through a wall. You can put it in the middle of the floor, move it between locations, or pull it away from the wall, none of which is possible with a remote unit.
Both models carry LED lighting on every shelf in daylight white, a night curtain that cuts energy loss when the store is closed, and off-cycle defrost to keep running costs down. Shelf depth is optimised so more of the volume is actually displayable rather than dead space at the back.
The PMD 1270 is finished in highly polished stainless steel, which lifts the look of the fixture in a premium store. It gives you 565 litres in 1270mm of width. The PMD 1880 steps up to 822 litres in 1880mm for higher-throughput aisles.

Does it need an external condenser or pipework?
No. The PMD is a plug-in unit with the full condensing system housed inside the cabinet. There is no external condenser to install and no pipework to route through a wall, so you can position it anywhere on the floor and move it when you rearrange the store.
What is the difference between the PMD 1270 and PMD 1880?
The PMD 1270 gives 565 litres in 1270mm of width and comes in highly polished stainless steel. The PMD 1880 gives 822 litres in 1880mm. Both are 760mm deep and 2000mm tall with 5 shelves plus base. Choose on aisle width and throughput.
What can I display in it?
Packaged dairy, beverages, packaged food, fruit and vegetables, and certain packaged meat and poultry items. It holds +2°C to +8°C, so it is a chiller, not a freezer.
Does it waste energy being open-fronted?
Both models have a night curtain that cuts energy loss when the store is closed, plus off-cycle defrost to reduce consumption. The PMD 1270 uses about 28 kW per day and the PMD 1880 about 40 kW per day.
